In addition to awarding scholarships to worthy high school students,  the society sponsors an Annual Essay Contest for students throughout Essex County to commemorate the achievements of Italian-Americans. The recipients are honored by society members, local educators and educational leaders, family, and friends at our annual Essay Contest and Scholarship Breakfast.

 

Each spring the Benedetto Croce Educational Society honors educational and civic leaders who perpetuate educational improvement. This Distinguished Leadership Award Gala brings together many educators and friends of the Society from throughout the state of New Jersey and recognizes individuals for their commitment to our students.

The Benedetto Croce Educational Society was established in 1931 to promote a greater awareness and appreciation of Italian Heritage and its contributions to civilization through the improvement of education. Seventy-five years later, the society continues its commitment to the preservation of Italian culture and the advancement of public education.
